About Ace of Trades

Hi! My name is Paul, the owner of Ace of Trades. I was a commercial web developer for 13 years in the 2000's before I felt the need for a change and decided to start a painting business - something where I could stretch and be active. I used various trade portals such as BuildersCrack and No Cowboys for my job leads.

Some tradies prefer alternatives to platforms like BuildersCrack. In my experience, the fee structure and communication processes weren't the right fit for how I wanted to operate my business.

When I was using BuildersCrack, access to homeowner contact details required a subscription and pre-paid tokens. Tokens were consumed when a homeowner chose to connect with me, regardless of whether the job was ultimately secured. For the types of work I was tendering, that meant ongoing token purchases over time.

I decided that model didn't align with the way I wanted to manage job acquisition costs, and that led me to build Ace of Trades as an alternative.

Ace of Trades was created to provide a different option — straightforward pricing and direct engagement between homeowners and tradespeople.

How it Works

Homeowner lists their project	Relevant tradespeople are automatically notified and invited to provide an estimate or quote	The homeowner reviews estimates/quotes and may communicate with the tradesperson directly	A contract is agreed with the tradesperson	Once the tradie has completed work, the homeowner may rate them
